The report reviewed in this paper is “The effect of the external environment, internal
resources, organizational capability, and competency on the competitiveness of creative industry
in South Sulawesi” by Munizu & Pono (2019). The authors hypothesize that external business
environment variables include government regulations, legal forces and politics, technology,
resources, rivals, and consumer preferences, all of which may impact a company's management.
When we talk about the external business environment, we refer to an environment that exists
outside of a company and has a direct or indirect impact on the organization's operations. The
creative sector has a significant impact on raising people's earnings and stimulating economic
development In South Sulawesi. The goal of this research was to investigate the relationship
between external environment and competitiveness and the relationship between internal
resources and competitiveness. The research also looked at the relationship between
organizational qualities and competitiveness. Furthermore, the research looked at the
relationship between competence and competitiveness in the creative industries in South
Sulawesi.

The study sample consisted of 180 business units, which were selected via the use of the
proportionate random sampling method. Managers and company owners made up the majority
of the responses. The technique of analysis that included both descriptive statistics and multiple
regression was used in this study. The findings revealed that the external environment has a
favorable and statistically significant impact on a company's competitiveness. The use of
internal resources has a positive and statistically significant impact on competing. The capacity
of an organization to compete, on the other hand, has a positive and considerable impact on
competitiveness. On the other hand, competence has a positive and statistically significant
impact on competitiveness. This research also discovered that the variable of internal resources
was an essential component in increasing the creative industries' competitiveness compared to
other factors examined in this study.
