Baha’i faith

Baha'i' Religious Movement

Bahia's faith is a new religion that teaches about the unity of all people in the world. It
was established by the Baha' you' Allah in the 19 th century. It began its mission in Iran and
spread across the globe drastically. Middle East countries were among the first to be
converted into the Baha'i' religion. Baha'i's religion's three fundamental principles and
teaching are unity, justice, and equality. The Baha'i' religion advocates for equality, racial
harmony, and fair justice in the world. The Baha'i believe that God is supernatural and can't
be known directly. It is believed that God is known through the teachings and practices that
the Baha'i religious groups follow. They also depict teachings from servants of God like
Abraham, Moses, Zoroaster, Jesus, and prophet Muhammad.
The Baha'i' began its mission in 1844 in Iran. It grew steadily by developing its
branches in Shi'ite of the Muslim faith. A young Iranian man named Ba’b is said to have been
sent by God as a prophet for the people of the Baha'i' religion. The founder of Baha'i' Allah,
the Glory of God, was initiated by Mirza Husain Nuri between 1817 and 1892 (Lesnyasky,
2019). Ba'b is regarded as the founder and central figure of the Baha'i' religion and is not
considered a sect of Islamic but a religion itself. The Baha'i believe in the teachings of
Prophet Muhammad as God's messenger. The Baha'i' was created as the members defected
from Islamic and became independent by creating its norms, beliefs, and cultural activities.
The old religious movement and Baha'i' religious movement differ in several ways.
According to MacEoin (2017), old religious movements have a distinct chronological order
when executing codes and rules that had challenges when solving problems that affected
people. In contrast, the Baha'i' religious movement does have a specified chronological order
that adapts to society's norms and changes by its impact on religion. The old religious
movement had a well-organized plan and structure. For example, the stages of the ancient

faith were inception, and members were to undergo the stage development through close
monitoring by religious leaders.
In contrast, the Baha'i' religious movement does not focus on the development stages
of religion but rather on its impact on individuality (Crook, 2019). The old spiritual training
focused on its complexity and justified its effects on society by applying the incidences that
occurred and creating ways to understand it; however, the Baha'i' religious movement focuses
on collaboration between religion and today's world. For instance, the Bahai'religion
embraces technology and religion, science and religion, which impacts the modern life of
human beings by creating solutions to the challenges they face today.
The Baha'i' religious movement has impacted society's social and economic factors by
increasing the number of attendees in Baha'i' centres, thus enhancing the spread of the
principles like unity, equality, and justice. Attending Baha'i' centres improves an individual's
attributes and influences good deeds to individuals: such as honesty, integrity, working hard,
openness, a trust which in turn improves the economic development of an individual, society,
and a nation at large. The Baha'i' religious movement in a country improves the number of
participants in religious activities, impacting their social status through cooperation,
collaboration, and teamwork. The Baha'i' preaches virtues like sharing and caring, which
members of a religious movement follow to enhance their social activity. Firmer religious
beliefs stimulate and influence growth as members of religious activity may be better
positioned to sustain and control an individual's behaviour that enhances productivity.
Attributes such as equality are emphasized by the Baha'i' religious group, thus promoting
unity in the society. Baha'i' religious movement contributes to cultural changes by influencing
its practices and norms. The Baha'i' religious leaders guide their members to interact and
behave in ways that the doctrine requires, which is emulated by individuals, society, or the
