Criminals who have been arrested, charged in a legal court, and sentenced to serve a jail
term are locked in prisons. Such criminals remain behind bars until parole is given to them or till
when they are released. They could be released on cash bail or once they finish serving their jail
term. Instances happen when such criminals decide to play otherwise by escaping from prison;
this is called busting out, a prison break, or jail breakout. It is a double crime when a police
officer is involved in the bust out. Let`s recap a criminal case that involved a prison break with
the help of a prison officer.
Jailhouse Jerry, his girlfriend Blinded Becky and Gambling George are all criminals
pertaining their hand in the escape of an inmate; Jailhouse Jerry. All three parties committed a
federal crime which is considered a felony by the US government. Such an offense is deemed to
violate Section 752 under Title 18 of the United States Code of Service. The code of service
indicates that any person that helps in the escape of a prisoner, attempts to dash out a prisoner, or
takes part in any way to help a prisoner escape then they are liable to face the law. The minimum
jail term for such an offense is five years or a fine depending on the court rulings and the weight
of the matter. Blinded Becky falls under such a crime, if arrested she would be charged with a
misdemeanor offense which would lead her to a year in jail or a fine. She would be apprehended
for aiding escape which falls under “escape and rescue”.
Gambling George was a worse crime since he was a government worker who colluded
with a criminal. George had taken an oath of office; he therefore would be charged for aiding
escape. Additionally, George would face extra charges of accepting a bribe to perpetrate a crime.
The most probable punishment for him would be five years or discharge from his job among
other fines. Jailhouse Jerry had been arrested before which means his name was in the criminal

records of jail. He had not been convicted for his second arrest but managed to escape before
charges. Once arrested, he will be charged with a prison break offense in addition to his earlier
crime. Jerry might end up facing more charges than he had earlier due to the prisonbreak.
In conclusion, jailbreak offenses are treated differently depending on various factors.
Such factors include who took part in the escape and how they were involved. If the escapee had
been earlier charged or waiting for charges. Lastly, all parties involved must however
