From my previous experience as a nurse, I learned to handle every situation differently
with a positive mind and provide care to patients. Handling patients with different ailments has
enhanced my experience dealing with varied issues. My background and experience influenced
my decision to apply for a Nursing program following the needs of the children and mothers I
encountered in my day-to-day life. From the nursing program, I expect to gain skills and
knowledge to understand how well to approach patients’ needs and create a solution at all times.
I see myself contributing to the health care of individuals by volunteering to provide
ultimate care through consistent check-ups, follow-ups, and treatment. For the community, as a
nurse, I intend to create opportunities that sensitize the public to monitor their health by visiting
health care facilities when the need arises. For example, my experience as a nurse in running a
program for the elderly with lifestyle diseases like diabetes, chronic illness, and cancer helped
me understand ways to handle patients with similar ailments.
The skills gained while studying a nursing program like leadership gives me insight into
nursing because it applies to managing and controlling patients. Studying nursing program
equips me with critical thinking that enhances my capabilities to handle varied healthcare
situations. My concern as a nurse is to be a committed worker in providing better services to
patients in health care at all costs. Providing adequate support to individuals and the community
will promote the growth and development of nursing as a program and my skills as an individual.
