Critics of qualitative research sometimes assert that researchers who use this design
bring their personal biases to the table, distorting the results. However, several counter-
arguments can be presented to counter these assumptions. First and foremost, as a researcher,
I believe that many researchers are taught the concepts of evidence-based practices, which aid
them in learning how to critically appraise their research results and use them to shape their
professional practice (Galdas, 2017). To have numerous sources of data to support their
conclusions, numerous researchers use triangulation techniques.
Additionally, researchers often enlist the assistance of their friends and colleagues to
assist them in coding the data and reviewing the findings, which may provide an additional
layer of protection against the introduction of personal biases into published results. Finally, I
would like to point out that, although quantitative data helps us comprehend why something
exists via numbers, qualitative data helps us grasp the how and why of a phenomenon.
Accordingly, qualitative research and its findings are valuable for understanding human
experiences, and I would emphasize the concerns raised above to detractors to help them
appreciate the efforts researchers take to minimize bias.

Thinking about the function of ethics in the investigation process is an incredibly
significant strategy that the Ph.D. student should take to maintain the study's integrity. To
safeguard the participants and the institutions involved in any study, a doctorate student or
researcher must be aware of numerous critical measures. Obtaining informed permission will
be the most important method to implement. People should be informed about research
studies to make an informed decision about whether or not they want to participate. Informed
consent is still the best approach to ensure that people understand what it means to participate

in a specific research study. When it comes to ensuring that people are treated with respect
during research, informed consent is one of the most critical instruments (Mack, 2005).
The use of participant observation is another method that must be used. While
conducting participant observation, researchers or doctoral students should maintain
sufficient secrecy about the identities of those being observed. Participants' routine activities
must be kept in mind so that the researcher does not interfere with their work. Their doors
should be left open enough so that others with whom the doctorate learner or researchers
view and engage do not feel that their privacy is being jeopardized by the researcher's
presence (Mack, 2005). As I perform my dissertation research, I am becoming more
concerned about the ethical behavior of the study's participants. During this project, I will be
conducting interviews with participants to determine their housing stability. Participants may
not disclose the truth about their housing because they believe they will lose their home or
lose their employment if the truth is revealed since I work as a housing consultant for a local
mental health clinic.

To assure validity and reliability, the researcher will have to address their own biases,
which may impact the results. To guarantee that the data collection and analysis criteria are
sufficiently detailed, a critical review of the methodologies to be utilized will be conducted
ongoing. The creation of differences and similarities over the whole region will be carried out
to ensure that each variable is represented accurately and fairly. Additional researchers'
participation will be encouraged to reduce the likelihood of bias. The aims and objectives of
the research will be specified. Where feasible, random samples will be employed, with a
suitable sample size being used to prevent bias in the investigation. Many viewpoints and
approaches will be used to ensure that the results are thorough. According to Zohrabi (254),

to assure dependability, a retest approach will be used. A comparable test will be
administered to the same group after a while. Alternate forms of testing, such as the
alternative form, will demand that the group take two tests, each of which will be structured
so that they are seeking to test the same outcomes as the first test.
