Paulo Freire asserts in his article titled "The 'Banking' Concept of Education" (1970) that
the educational approach in which instructors bank data on learners who function as receptors are
coercive since it denies pupils the autonomy of freely processing knowledge. Freire supports his
thesis by arguing that students become sedentary due to the amount of information they store in
their heads. Consequently, individuals are unable to participate critically and purposefully in
efforts to alter the world. His goal is to provide students, via the use of a problem-posing method
of instruction, with the ability to examine the ongoing formation of reality critically. This article
aims to persuade education authorities and other stakeholders to develop a more effective system
(Freire 120).
