RE: Advocating for Funding a Public Health Program on Suicide Prevention
I write this letter seeking to advocate for funds for sensitization and prevention of suicide.
I am a public health caregiver who has an American dream of making the world better. I am
representing members of a program called `Anti-suicide squad Connecticut`. The main drive
behind the program is that Suicidal cases have been increasing over the years cruise; therefore, it
is necessary to prepare communities to respond to suicide prevention at all costs. Suicide is one
of the major killers today; cases have risen in the last decade, especially in Connecticut. It mostly
affects the youths aged between 15-29 years of age (Bilsen, 2018). I appreciate that most youth
who go through suicide cases in Connecticut are covered by medical insurance; however, a
portion of the low-income families still require funding to help them access medical care.

The funds will greatly impact providing residential treatment to troubled youths. The
government can open more counseling centers to cater to the rising cases of self-killing (Hogan
& Goldman 2021). It will be necessary to go door-to-door and get those individuals who have
had suicidal attempts in the past. A lack of funds could cause suicidal attempts to cater to basic
needs like education fees; in connection to this, the funds can be utilized in catering for such
needs (Van Hal, 2015). Similarly, the funds will serve volunteers who opt to help individuals
with depression and suicidal thoughts. Such individuals need to be monitored by public health
caregivers who also provide healing therapies.
There have been plans ongoing in the last two years, and our program has a team of twenty-four
members. The members are volunteers who dig into their pockets to help the good work thrive.
A well-calculated explanation and The team will present a broken-down budget in our proposal
as soon as we receive a positive reply from you, which is what we anticipate. This program is
deemed the genesis of an odyssey that will reap fruits in the future in making life hunky-dory.
